300 PPI Vs 72 PPI
What is the difference between 300ppi and 72ppi?
So the pixel per inch in 300 ppi are much smaller pixels than the 72ppi image which has larger pixels making the image more unclear and less defined than the 72 ppi. Smaller pixels allow for more detail, smoother images and blends of color and shape . 300 ppi results into a higher quality image. When you enlarge an image, you expand the size of the pixels, the culprit of those unsightly jagged edges.
Why is that important for the graphic designer doing print projects?
This is important for graphic designes when doing print projects because the recommended resolution or PPI count is 300 because it is used for their work and projects to seem clear, presentable, professional, and accurate to what they are trying to portray or present in their projects. In brief the higher the PPI the more clear their image(s) will come out since the pixels are smaller and denser.
Why is that important for the web designer doing websites?
The higher the PPI is for web images the more clear/high quality they image will come out. In addition, Web designers want the resolution that is suitable for every screen and looking very detailed for digital viewing. in other words they want the visual/view of their digital work to seem clear and high quality but is has to be a suitable file size and display for every computer.
