300 PPI Vs 72 PPI

What is the difference between 300ppi and 72ppi? So the pixel per inch in 300 ppi are much smaller pixels than the 72ppi image which has larger pixels making the image more unclear and less defined than the 72 ppi. Smaller pixels allow for more detail, smoother images and blends of color and shape . 300 ppi results into a higher quality image. When you enlarge an image, you expand the size of the pixels, the culprit of those unsightly jagged edges. Why is that important for the graphic designer doing print projects? This is important for graphic designes when doing print projects because the recommended resolution or PPI count is 300 because it is used for their work and projects to seem clear, presentable, professional, and accurate to what they are trying to portray or present in their projects. In brief the higher the PPI the more clear their image(s) will come out since the pixels are smaller and denser. Why is that important for the web designer doing websites? The higher th...

Society of Illustrators

Image
The Society of illustrators is a group/community of professional illustrators who's goal is to promote illustration, art and educate people, artists, designers or illustrators on its history and evolving nature through exhibitions. The exhibitions help you find meaning in art and illustrations and teach you how art can tell a story or knowing the story behind art or illustration. My favorite exhibition was probably the hands on drawing with Mrs. Wooley and her presentation simply because not only does she share a  experience  to mine  similar and an interesting career  but she goes in depth in the  illustration process and how you need to know what you are drawing, especially when talking about her work with the national geographics Pirate Queens art and cover. Such as when she was drawing the important women during this time she had to know about their background, character and she had  to find the suitable models to i...

25 blend modes

Image
While experimenting with the blend modes, I noticed major differences between each and every single on of them. Apart from "dissolve" which only distresses the edges of the photo. Subtraction is the color mode that has the most color contrast. Lighter modes are typically made to lighten either the foreground and background. Contrast modes make the distinctions between colors much more rich and evident such as "vivid light and linear light" which are my personal favorite modes along side the "darken" and "Luminosity" blend mode. Dark blend modes make the atmosphere of the photo/subject less saturated meaning that it will become darker, obviously that would mean there is less light or vivid colors. Inversion blend modes make the colors inverted or much more different such as subtract, exclusion, and difference which are the most notable inversion blend modes. Color/Component blend modes are just varied changes with the colors of the image, luminosi...
